Choose one of the organizations from the list below or identify a nonprofit hospital in your community to research. Review the Mission, Vision, and Values (MVVs) statements from the organization. If the values statement is not available, please indicate that in your initial post. Please note, this same list of organizations is provided for the  Week 3 assignment  and the  Week 5 final paper . You may want to review multiple organizations to determine which one you would like to use for those assignments. While you are not required to use the same organization in the Week 3 assignment as you this activity, you are expected to use the same organization for both the Weeks 3 and 5 assignments:

Search the organization’s name on the internet. Open the homepage of the organization. Select the links for the different pages, usually located at the top of the webpage or in the footer section at the bottom of the page. In your initial post,

· Briefly discuss two goals you would expect to find in the strategic plan for the chosen organization and include your rationale for the choices.

· Examine why it is important to include the marketing department in the strategic plan.

Our health, or the absence of such, can be very expensive. Many vulnerable populations simply do not have private funds available to pay for their care.  Relating your research to individuals with mental conditions, select a mental illness of your choice and discuss your response to the following questions:

· What public financing resources are available to individuals with this particular mental condition?

· What are the eligibility requirements and restrictions to receive these funds?

· What happens if eligibility standards/requirements are not met by those with this illness?

· Research and discuss two methods of alternative funding for care for this group. What are the benefits and limitations of the methods you discussed?

Explore The Challenges In Resolving Value Conflicts In Ethical Practice

Even when you do not declare your values publicly, your lifestyles, verbal, and nonverbal communications usually indicate the values you hold. Assume you have been asked to present at the next regional Social Work conference about these issues. You have decided to discuss the challenges of working with a diverse client base and managing value conflicts.

Prepare a narrated PowerPoint presentation for your conference session. Begin by describing a situation with a client system in which the values of a client, your values, and a primary social work value were in opposition or significant conflict. You may use a hypothetical situation if you have yet to experience this in the field. For example, a lesbian social worker is attempting to place an adolescent in foster care with a religiously conservative family. The adolescent wants to remain in temporary placement with a teacher who is openly gay, but the agency prohibits placements with single parents and sexual minority families. The social worker has not professionally disclosed her sexual orientation. How would these issues be resolved in an ethical decision-making process?

Construct your own example and include the following in your presentation:

• Integrate the readings in the course so far by outlining a process of decision-making for social workers clearly modeling the necessary steps to practice ethically with these conflicts present.
• Analyze the challenges diversity presents in addressing these conflicts. Examine best practices to adhere to the Code of Ethics while providing the best service for your clients.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists and should cite material appropriately. Explore Practice Regulations

For your assignment, this week, assume you have already graduated and are working in the field of social work at the MSW level. You are employed at a non-profit mental health clinic as a clinical manager. You have been asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation regarding your state’s (or providence’s) social work and mental health practice laws and regulations. This presentation will be shown to all newly hired social workers.

In your presentation, include the following (based on the state in which you live or intend to practice):

Provide a brief explanation of what external factors (historical, social, cultural, economic, organizational, environmental, and/or global) led to the creation of licensing laws and the regulation of professional practice.

• Explain how a mental health practice and/or a social work practice is defined according to your state’s laws or regulations.
• Provide the web address where employees can learn about social work licensure and/or certification in this state.
• Examine the mandatory reporting laws in your state.
• Explain the regulations regarding involuntary commitment.
• Determine if your state follows Duty to Warn or Duty to Protect.
