Ipad Generation

Ipad Generation

“Generation iPad,” a term we used to describe today’s young children as they play with iPhone or iPad daily. How do young children playing with iPhone/iPad impact their cognitive development? Watch the video at

and follow the instruction below carefully.

Note

For this week’s discussion, please do the following,

  • We have discussed several child development theories in Chapter 1. When looking at this week’s discussion prompt, which theory resonates with you the most? Explain your choice in detail.
  • What are the pros and cons of technology usage for infants and toddlers?
  • If you have an infant/toddler, would you allow him/her to play with the device? How often? Why?

Your second assignment in this course is to help a group of beginner researchers develop their
research project from an initial research topic and research questions, with particular attention to
plans for data collection. Your assignment should be 2,000 words ±10%. The word count excludes
the list of references at the end of the document. In-text citations are included in the word count.
The main body of the text should be in 12pt Arial or Times New Roman with 1.5 or double line
spacing. Pages should be numbered.
You will need to cite and reference the work and ideas of others, and may need to quote directly – it
is your responsibility to do this correctly and accurately, in the Harvard style.
The scenario
Three keen industry practitioners want to understand more about work and employment in
particular settings, and although they’ve studied the topic well, they’ve never actually ‘done’
empirical research before. These novice researchers have heard that you’ve recently been studying
research methods, and so have come to you for advice on appropriate tools and techniques for
collecting data, alongside some suggestions on how that data might be analysed.
Following some initial discussions and reading, together you produce the following broad research
topic:
How do disabled accounting professionals perceive their work and how are disabled accounting
professionals perceived within the accounting profession?
After further reviewing the literature, you’ve helped to develop this broad topic into two specific
research questions:
What are the experiences of disabled accounting professionals working in Scotland?
What are the attitudes towards disabled accounting professionals at accounting firms in Scotland?
You suggest that that the first question would lend itself to the collection and analysis of qualitative
data, while the second would lend itself to the collection and analysis of quantitative data. The
researchers are keen to do both at the same time, which you characterise as a convergent parallel
design.
Your task is to provide informed guidance on suitable approaches to collecting (and to a lesser
extent analysing) both forms of data, with clear justifications drawn from a range of empirical and
non-empirical resources. This guidance is in the form of a report, which should be well-referenced.
The following prompts are designed to help get you writing:
Data collection tools and techniques
What do you think would be an appropriate approach to collecting useful qualitative data on this
topic? Why? Can you give examples of this approach from relevant good quality peer-reviewed
published empirical research?
What do you think would be an appropriate approach to collecting useful quantitative data on this
topic? Why? Can you give examples of this approach from relevant good quality peer-reviewed
published empirical research?
Sampling
Who/where should the researchers collect qualitative data from? Why? Where primary data is being
collected, do you have any ideas for where they might find their participants and how they could
approach them? Where secondary data is being collected, where could they find this?
Who/where should researchers collect quantitative data from? Why? Where primary data is being
collected, do you have any ideas for where they might find their participants and how they could
approach them? Where secondary data is being collected, where could they find this?
Questions, scales, research instruments
The researchers are not sure how to (for example) write questions or find scales for collecting
qualitative and quantitative data. Where primary data is being collected, what advice would you give
the researchers on questions or scales? Can you give examples of both from relevant good quality
peer-reviewed published empirical research? Where secondary data is being collected, what are the
specifics of the research instruments used to collect the data?
Ethical issues
What are the key ethical principles of research, and what sort of ethical issues might the researchers
encounter in this particular study, within this particular profession? Are there different issues
relating to each question and form of data collected?
Data analysis
Briefly, what would be a suitable method for analysing the qualitative data and why do you think this
is appropriate here? Can you find any examples of this in published empirical and non-empirical
research?
Briefly, what would be a suitable method for analysing the quantitative data and why do you think
this is appropriate here? Can you find any examples of this in published empirical and non-empirical
research?
General notes:
For the purposes of this assignment, we are using the UK definition of disability under the Equality
Act 2010:
You’re disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a
‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities.
Please note that this assignment is primarily an assessment of your ability to study, select, and write
about data collection tools and related considerations when thinking about a specific research topic.
When planning a research project it is also very important to consider and study the tools and
techniques for analysing data, but we do not expect a lengthy discussion of the specifics of data
analysis in this assignment.
Part of this task is to clearly choose specific data collection tools and techniques and to justify these
choices as suitable for this research topic, with reference to relevant and suitable academic sources.
Please do not ask your lecturers and tutors whether or not you have made appropriate choices while
writing the assignment, as your ability to make and justify these decisions is part of what you are
being assessed on.
If you choose to include any tables or figures then these do not count towards your overall word
count.

develop an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) for the database that models your chosen domain. This assignment consists of three steps that should be completed.

1. Identify entities;
2. find relationships; and
3. Draw the ERD blueprint.

Step 1:

Identify Entities
Identify the entities. These are typically the nouns and noun-phrases in the descriptive data produced in your analysis. Do not include entities that are irrelevant to your domain.
For example, in a college database project, the entity candidates are departments, chair, professor, course, and course section. Since there is only one instance of the university, we exclude it from our consideration for now.

Step 2:

Find Relationships
Discover the semantic relationships between entities. In English, the verbs connect the nouns. Not all relationships are this blatant; you may have to discover some on your own. The easiest way to see all the possible relationships is to build a table with the entities across the columns, and down the rows. Then, fill in cells to indicate where relationships exist between the entities.

Step 3:

Draw the ERD Blueprint
Draw the entities and relationships you have discovered. View the example of a college database project ERD blueprint. To create your ERD, the domain (or subset of a domain) that you chose for your project should include the following characteristics:
• Size. An appropriately sized domain results in a database with about a dozen entries (more or less).
• Relationship. The entities comprising your domain should be interrelated.
• Functionality. The scope of the diagram shows the operations or functions that the database project addresses. It also identifies the functions that fall outside of the application.
• Description. Define the data requirement of your entities. For example:
• Student Entity: Members of the public who register and pay for courses are considered students. The data stored on each student includes student number, name, address, email address, previous classes, and experience. Also stored is the date for registration and the classes they are registered in. The student number is unique for each student.
• Course Entity: The school offers a variety of Online design courses through its website (these are considered course, not the on-location seminars). The data stored on each course includes the course number, the name of the course, the course description, and prerequisites (if any). The course number is unique, etc.

Hematopoietic And Cardiovascular

Hematopoietic And Cardiovascular

J.D. is a 37 year old white woman who presents to her gynecologist complaining of a 2-month history of intermenstrual bleeding, menorrhagia, increased urinary frequency, mild incontinence, extreme fatigue, and weakness. Her menstrual period occurs every 28 days and lately there have been 6 days of heavy flow and cramping. She denies abdominal distension, back-ache, and constipation. She has not had her usual energy levels since before her last pregnancy.

Past Medical History (PMH):
Upon reviewing her past medical history, the gynecologist notes that her patient is a G5P5with four pregnancies within four years, the last infant having been delivered vaginally four months ago. All five pregnancies were unremarkable and without delivery complications. All infants were born healthy. Patient history also reveals a 3-year history of osteoarthritis in the left knee, probably the result of sustaining significant trauma to her knee in an MVA when she was 9 years old. When asked what OTC medications she is currently taking for her pain and for how long she has been taking them, she reveals that she started taking ibuprofen, three tablets each day, about 2.5 years ago for her left knee. Due to a slowly progressive increase in pain and a loss of adequate relief with three tablets, she doubled the daily dose of ibuprofen. Upon the recommendation from her nurse practitioner and because long-term ibuprofen use can cause peptic ulcers, she began taking OTC omeprazole on a regular basis to prevent gastrointestinal bleeding. Patient history also reveals a 3-year history of HTN for which she is now being treated with a diuretic and a centrally acting antihypertensive drug. She has had no previous surgeries.

Case Study Questions
1. Name the contributing factors on J.D that might put her at risk to develop iron deficiency anemia.
2. Within the case study, describe the reasons why J.D. might be presenting constipation and or dehydration.
3. Why Vitamin B12 and folic acid are important on the erythropoiesis? What abnormalities their deficiency might cause on the red blood cells?
4. The gynecologist is suspecting that J.D. might be experiencing iron deficiency anemia.
In order to support the diagnosis, list and describe the clinical symptoms that J.D. might have positive for Iron deficiency anemia.
5. If the patient is diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia, what do you expect to find as signs of this type of anemia? List and describe.
6. Labs results came back for the patient. Hb 10.2 g/dL; Hct 30.8%; Ferritin 9 ng/dL; red blood cells are smaller and paler in color than normal. Research list and describe for appropriate recommendations and treatments for J.D.

Cardiovascular
Mr. W.G. is a 53-year-old white man who began to experience chest discomfort while playing tennis with a friend. At first, he attributed his discomfort to the heat and having had a large breakfast. Gradually, however, discomfort intensified to a crushing sensation in the sternal area and the pain seemed to spread upward into his neck and lower jaw. The nature of the pain did not seem to change with deep breathing. When Mr. G. complained of feeling nauseated and began rubbing his chest, his tennis partner was concerned that his friend was having a heart attack and called 911 on his cell phone. The patient was transported to the ED of the nearest hospital and arrived within 30 minutes of the onset of chest pain. In route to the hospital, the patient was placed on nasal cannula and an IV D5W was started. Mr. G. received aspirin (325 mg po) and 2 mg/IV morphine. He is allergic to meperidine (rash). His pain has eased slightly in the last 15 minutes but is still significant; was 9/10 in severity; now7/10. In the ED, chest pain was not relieved by 3 SL NTG tablets. He denies chills.

Case Study Questions
1. For patients at risk of developing coronary artery disease and patients diagnosed with acute myocardial infarct, describe the modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors.
2. What would you expect to see on Mr. W.G. EKG and which findings described on the case are compatible with the acute coronary event?
3. Having only the opportunity to choose one laboratory test to confirm the acute myocardial infarct, which would be the most specific laboratory test you would choose and why?
4. How do you explain that Mr. W.G temperature has increased after his Myocardial Infarct, when that can be observed and for how long? Base your answer on the pathophysiology of the event.
5. Explain to Mr. W.G. why he was experiencing pain during his Myocardial Infarct. Elaborate and support your answer.

Government And Politics

Government And Politics

Good evening, scholars Hope you all had a good week. This week will contain two assignments. The first assignment will be based on the first chapter you read. Please answer the following questions in written form, The questions will form the thesis of your answers toward drilling down on other aspects of the chapter you wish to include. 1. The authors reference a particular voting group; millennials. What is the significance of focusing on this particular group? How are they characterized, what makes them unique? How do millennials view politics? What makes them so historically difference from other generations of the same age group? 2. The US is a representative democracy. In this political science assignment help define this term, and what according to the text are forms of representative democracy? 3. Describe in detail elite ruling theory, and pluralism. Which of these theories in your opinion accurately captures the expression or political power in the US? 4. John Locke’s theory underpins the US’s political philosophy. Explain in detail the fundamentals of this theory, and the role and relationship between the government and the governed. In your opinion, are you of the view that the governed are playing their role in this theory. Assignment 2. Please watch this video below, and write a one-page reaction giving justifications for your opinions.

According to O’Sullivan, (2018), as of 2012, some 7.6 billion people were living on the planet with the projections having that the population will be 9.6 billion by 2050 (O’Sullivan, 201]8). In that case, the agency developed a model that there would be three levels of population projections namely: high, medium, and low. The lowest level of projection has it that people will have to adopt effective family planning methods that will ensure that future population growth trends rely solely on one need to procreate.

As an individual, the idea is detrimental in that the most developed economies have many people who have a huge impact on their labor levels. As such I would have to struggle to sustain what I have while at the same time trying to adapt to changes. At the same time, medium population growth doesn’t promise anything. People will be living at equilibrium and the available resources will be enough to sustain a viable life {writing help, 2017). Unless otherwise, I would employ a survival instinct that would allow me to lead a sustainable life while hoping for a better future from past experiences. In essence, that means that a decline or improvement in fertility levels will make the future unpredictable. https://onlyessayhelp.com/assignment-detailswhat-can-movies-and-television-shows-communicate-to-people-about-gender-roles-and/

In most cases, the high level of population growth focuses on data gotten from risen years by the UN suggests that future trends in human sociology patterns influenced by population growth giants such as Africa and Asia mean that the adoption of current thinking trends will have to change with people starting to think more of smaller families (O’Sullivan, 2018). As such, the general focus on the future would be of much more focus to me than it was before.

Clearly, one of the main issues presented in Decelerate Blue is technology. Clearly, the book shows us some of the down sides of technology. Of course, it is logically false to say “All blanks are blank” and so, for this work, you are going to be tasked at looking at multiple sides of one aspect of technology, be it hardware or software, presenting all sides as “fact” and then doing a deep analysis, using what we learned about logical fallacies to determine what is valid. It is OK if you determine neither side is valid.

The rules:

Pick a topic. Pick something that has a lot of coverage. Think big headline issues, not something local that has limited coverage.
All the sources must be dated either 2021 or 2022. We want current information here. Even if you are using a source that gives some history of your topic, you still need to find one that is current. Think of it this way; a book about women’s suffrage written in 1921, one year after it happened is going to have a lot less information and context than a book written in 2021, 101 years afterward as there will be more data, anecdotes and context.
You must have a minimum of TWO sources per side of the issue for a total of FOUR sources. You may use more but they must be equal. If you feel you need a third source for one side of the issue, you must then find another or the other side. You may use one unique source for the introduction if you feel it is absolutely necessary to explain the issue.
Review the Everything you wanted to know about citing tab in the vital information module BEFORE submitting this work. You are held accountable for the information presented there. APA formatting is explained in graphic detail there.
NO DIRECT QUOTES! Paraphrase, summarize and cite your work.
6.Review the the Purdue Owl’s page on what constitutes a good paragraph (Links to an external site.) .

Note

Introduction: 300-500 words

This is where you simply explain the topic chosen and WHY you chose it. That means you may write this section in first person. If you want to discuss social media, pick a particular kind. Write about Twitter or Facebook or Tik Tok NOT all three because the do different things and have different rules. However, if you wanted to write about a type of app like a dating app or a gaming app, that is OK because your focus would be on the good and bad of that kind of app. However, if you just wanted to focus on Fortnite, you could. Find your focus. Focus is the key.

The perspectives: 500-750 words per side (1000-1500 words total)

In this section you will present the main points of each of your sources. This must be in third person, written with an eye toward objectivity. Do NOT include your opinion here. You are giving each side of this issue a fair shake. Paraphrase and summarize the main points. Write to a general audience.

Note

Analysis: 750-1000 words

Now that you’ve done all of this research apply critical thinking strategies to all the arguments presented in all the articles you have used. Point out logical fallacies. NAME the fallacy and explain why you think that fallacy was employed.

Note

Conclusion: 300-500 words

How has evaluating these sources this way affected what you know about this issue? Have your own personal views on the issue change? If so, in what way? If not, why not? If so, has your opinion about that changed?

Good to Great

Good to Great

In his 2001 article, “Good to Great”, Jim Collins found 11 companies that went from good to great and metaphorically discussed how each of them did this. Of particular note was how Collins described the transformation of Wells Fargo.

Using the Hedgehog Concept, Collins argued that leaders are hedgehogs, not foxes. Foxes are good at many things. Hedgehogs are good at 1 big thing and are able to distill everything down to 1 simple workable idea. Accordingly, to be a great company, the CEO would have to ask: 1) what is the company best at; 2) what economic denominator drives the company; and, 3) what are the employees passionate about? Using this formula, Collins notably claims that Wells Fargo discovered that their economic driver was not profit per loan but profit per employee. Consequently, they pioneered electronic banking with the idea that they would “run a business like they owned it” and ended up turning that employee profit into superior results.

Although Collins does not empirically define these results, Wells Fargo’s profit summaries since 2001 reflect as much. In 2016, a former employee revealed that Wells Fargo had been involved in elaborate schemes to defraud customers by using their information to create phony accounts without their knowledge. Still trying to recover from the $1.2 billion housing settlement in February of 2016, this disclosure resulted in yet another $185 million in fines by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Consequently, the CEO resigned and the Department of Justice (DOJ) is now investigating the company. Wells Fargo shares have lost nearly 16% of their value.

Note

1.For your discussion, you must first determine if Collins was incorrect to begin with.

2.Did Collins simply misinterpret how Wells Fargo reported their successes after 2001? Or was it something internal at Wells Fargo that caused the Hedgehog Concept to go awry?

3.If so, how could profit per employee go so wrong? Most importantly, where was the failure in leadership and why?
