- Write a research paper (minimum 5,000 words) about HIPAA. Do you think it’s a good act? Why or why not? Talk about the history of HIPAA and how did it change over time. Ask yourself these questions: What are the impacts of HIPAA? Did it benefit the country? if yes, in what way? You can discuss any question that comes to your mind regarding HIPAA.
- Then, select four articles of your choice that involves HIPAA. Summarize the four articles briefly. You can choose any four articles you want. The purpose is finding and researching articles in favor of the topic and articles against the topic. Two must stand with HIPAA. The other two must go against it. You should describe each article, summarize its purpose, and outline its HIT impact. Then, talk about your opinion. Are you supporting HIPAA act or against it? Why or why not?
- Form an opinion based on the research. Is your selected topic good for healthcare? Why or why not? Do you believe that your classmates should agree with you? What argument would you say to convince them about your thoughts?
