This Signature Assignment is a two part assignment. For the first part of this assignment, you are required to conduct a 30 minute in-person interview with a licensed counselor in your residing state. The interview must occur specifically with a counselor and not a mental health professional from another discipline such as psychology or social work. The second part of the Signature Assignment is the clinical mental health counseling program evaluation. You are required to conduct an evaluation of the program where your interview takes place. Some of the information you receive in your interview will help inform this assignment. However, you are also required to do your own research for this assignment by exploring the site’s website and any other resources to help provide the necessary information. Within this evaluation, you will explore the setting, populations served, ethical practices, theoretical foundations, etc. within the clinical environment where you conduct your interview. Details about the structure of the program evaluation are located in the “descriptions section” towards the end of the syllabus.
