RETURNED FOREIGN TERRORIST FIGHTERS
Final Paper Instructions
Course name: Law and Terrorism
Track: BA Government
Topic: Returned Foreign Terrorist Fighters
Research Question:
How states often use the citizenship as a method of counter terrorism, especially with the emergence of foreign fighters? |
Guidelines:
• Word count: Your final research paper will be between 2,500-3,000 words. (Points may be deducted for papers with less than 2,500 words or papers with more than 3,000 words).
• All papers must include a cover page and a bibliography. The cover page should list the student ID number, the course name and date. The cover page and bibliography are not included in the word count.
• Papers should be written in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, double-spaced, and standard width margins.
• All sources used must be properly documented. Students may use any citation style of their choice but need to be consistent throughout the paper. Bibliographies must include all sources used in the paper (and only those).
• The paper should be analytical and argumentative rather than descriptive. You should base your paper on previous literature and make sure that you use academic resources.
The best papers are often those that provide a new perspective on the existing discussions. Papers should include an introduction with a research question, argument/discussion, and a conclusion (summary of your argument).
You can find below a suggested way to organize the introduction of your paper:
1. Introduction to the topic (1-2 sentences)
2. Your research question (1 sentence)
3. Your argument (i.e. your answer to your research question, in 1-2 sentences)
4. The outline of your paper (2-3 sentences)
