Should Transition/Career Education Be a Separate Program

Activity 15: Assume that you are the superintendent of your local school district and that you are meeting with your faculty at the beginning of the year to present them with your vision of the upcoming school year. At the end of the meeting, you have a questions-and answers session during which the following three questions are asked about the transition/career education program in your school district. Try to address the following three critical issues as part of your overall vision for the school system.

a. Should transition/career education be a separate program or infused into the general education curriculum? (Explain you answer)

b. How much of the curriculum should be devoted to functional life skills?

c. How can transition/career education be adequately provided in inclusive settings?
