Health communication should adhere to the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, respect for personal autonomy, and justice. The exchange between health professionals and patients should involve informed consent regarding the purpose and nature of the intervention and possible alternatives.

The Belmont Report is one of the most important documents for professionals who are responsible for the protections of Human participants in research. The principle of Beneficence addresses the ethical obligations applied to these protections. I have uploaded the pdf along with the link to the HHS.gov site.
