The Correct Way to Write an Essay

Essays and other written assignments are a tool to help you, the Warrant Officer Candidate (WOC), improve yourself and learn from your experiences and mistakes. Cadre will grade your essays for format, grammar and content. This sample composition is an example containing correct format, grammar and content for the candidates of the 1st Warrant Officer Company. Use this example as a guide only in preparing essays. Following the assigned document format is critical to success. Improperly formatted essays often indicate an inability to follow simple instructions. Failure to follow instructions in a technical manual could result in the damage/destruction of equipment and/or injury/death to personnel. Failure to follow proper essay format will result in the essay being returned to you for correction and resubmission. Begin your essay by placing pertinent essay information at the top of the first page. Six inches from the left side of the paper and centered between the top of the page and essay title, write the following: The rank and name of the cadre member who assigned the essay; WOC (your name); total number of words within the essay; and the date. See the top of the page for the correct format. Place the title of your essay on the first page only. Center the title of the essay on the first line. Capitalize the first letter of each word in the title. Begin the body of the essay on the fourth line. Each page must have a one-inch margin on all sides. Hyphenate words as necessary to ensure that margins appear as even as possible. Indent each paragraph and do not skip lines between paragraphs. Center the page number of the second page and any subsequent pages one inch from the bottom of the page. Flag and staff all ones (1) and slash all zeros (0) for hand written essays. When a second or subsequent page is needed, begin on the third line from the top of the page. Ensure that there are at least two complete sentences on the final page. On the fifth line down from the last line of your essay, place the left edge of your signature block at the center of the page. Hand written essays will be on standard issue, ruled notebook paper with a black ink pen. Print hand written work and ensure that it is neat and legible. If you make a mistake begin again or be prepared to accept the consequences. Write your essay using proper grammar and composition. Do not mix writing styles. If you begin in the first Person, do not change to second or third person within the same essay. Use proper subject/verb agreement. Speaking your sentences aloud before writing them will help you to avoid common mistakes. Check for spelling errors and always proofread before submitting essays.

China’s Cyber Warfare Capability

Based on your Week 6 case study and additional week seven cases studies, discuss the various cyber responses. (500 words)

-Week 6 Case Study is listed below

China’s Cyber Warfare Capability

Cyberwarfare is a modern concept that has been established significantly due to the growth of the internet. Cyberwarfare entails activities by a country or an organization aimed at attacking the cyber system of another country. It can involve targeting the network of a country using a computer virus that disrupts activities. Typically, technology is the backbone of cyber warfare, and the countries with the most sophisticated technology have enormous cyber warfare capabilities. In cyber warfare, the intention is to harm another nation through the online platform and is termed war, and just computer systems are the targets. Several counts of cyber-attacks have been associated with state sponsorship. However, countries do not acknowledge involvement in a cyber-attack. In other cases, international organizations admit having perpetrated a cyberattack. Today, cyber warfare is becoming the modern type of war, and countries are working hard to increase their capabilities. One country with a significant cyber warfare capability is China. China is the second-largest economy and is also among the top countries with nuclear technology and defense system. China has invested heavily in cyber warfare and allocates vast amounts of money to the sector.

The attempt by countries like China and the U.S. to spend heavily on cyber warfare is because these countries want to ensure that they dominate in the area. Additionally, each nation seeks to ensure that it can protect its citizens from cyberattacks by other countries. China is one reason why the U.S. keeps getting pressure to invest in cyber warfare and increase its capability. Many stories and discussions have emerged concerning China’s cyber warfare capability, with many countries seeing China as a threat. In the recent past, China has been gaining global dominance, and arguments are that it is achieving it through cyber warfare. Most attacks that have been traced back to China are believed to have been facilitated by the government. However, the Chinese government has never admitted having sponsored any attack. China is arguably the second country with the best cyber warfare system globally, which means that it can effectively facilitate a cyber-attack. China developed its cyber warfare system to move at the same pace as countries such as Russia in the area and be able to defend itself and launch counter-attacks when necessary.

  • Chapter 9: Why is sociological representation important? If congressional representatives have racial, religious, or educational backgrounds similar to their constituents, are they better representatives? Why or why not?
  • Chapter 10: Most Americans in the 1930s and 1940s did not know that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was severely handicapped from polio and had to use a wheelchair, just as many in the 1960s did not know that John F. Kennedy had extramarital affairs while in the White House. Journalists at the time censored themselves due to respect for the office and the man. Have our most effective presidents also been the most exemplary? Explain.
