Behavioral Theory Interventions

Select a health behavior intervention for a patient/client. Using the

constructs of the Health Belief Model (HBM), describe how you, as a

health professional, would develop an intervention to address this

health behavior concern. What information would you need to gather from

the patient/client? When possible, find support in peer-reviewed

literature for the use of HBM for the chosen health behavior. Examples

of interventions include preventing osteoporosis in women, improving

nutrition in elderly, preventing childhood caries, and so on.

Assignment: Write a research paper describing Abortion the case , the outcome, and implications for health care providers or administrators resulting from the case. The main focus of your paper should be on the implications for the healthcare manager from your case example. Undergraduate Students will write a 7 – 10 page research paper on Terminating Pregnancy. These factors play a major part in preventing medical malpractice lawsuits, since individuals are less likely to initiate legal action if they believe the provider cares about them. Approximately 70% of the lawsuits filed are “nuisance” suits because of a failure to communicate and show compassion.

The social marketing theory

The social marketing theory is a combination of theories that aim to influence attitudes and behavior. The theory has been applied extensively in the public health field to influence both healthy and unhealthy behavior. While behavior influence is one main objective of the theory, it relies on four basic principles.
