Instructions:
Choose a case (a policy, non-government organization, for-profit organization, or social movement, etc.), which focuses on sexualities as the primary agenda for social changes. Based on this case, you are required to conduct an analysis as your final project. You will be expected to describe and evaluate your case by using those tools and insights you learn from this course.
In the analytical section, you are expected to apply at least 2 analytical tools we have learned in this course and use at least 6 references from the course to analyze your case and provide solid discussion.
Goals
- Develop a solid understanding of the sociological perspective on sexualities through applying the tools to discuss specific topics
- Analyze how different social forces have constructed sexualities in certain ways and what the implications are on people’s everyday lives
- Evaluate different forms of social inequalities and problems
- Evaluate the solutions and strategies proposed by the case
- Develop the potential intervention strategies towards tackling the social problems you care about
An outline of your case study: over 300 words long
You will post the outline of your case study on the Discussion Board by April 13 (Mon) 11:59 pm. The outline will contain the following information:
- Name of your case (the policy, non-government organization, for-profit organization, or social movement, etc.)
- How does the policy, non-government organization, for-profit organization, or social movement address Sexualities for Social Changes?
- Why do you choose this case to study?
- What is/are the Social Problem(s) addressed and targeted?
- What are the Goals they intend to achieve?
