Abstract Rationale, aims and objectives Self-management of type 2 diabetes through diet. Exercise and for many medications, are vital in achieving and maintaining glycaemic control in type 2 diabetes. A number of interventions have been designed to improve self-management. But the outcomes of these are rarely explored from a qualitative angle and even fewer through a process evaluation. Method A process evaluation was conducted using a qualitative design with participants randomized to an intervention.

Seventy-three people living with type 2 diabetes and hyperglycaemia for a minimum of 1 year, randomized to one of two interventions (n = 34 to an education intervention and n = 39 to an education and acceptance and commitment therapy intervention) completed stage one of the process evaluation, immediately following the intervention through written feedback guided by open-ended questions. A purposive sample of 27 participants completed semi-structured interviews at 3 and 6 months post inter- vention.

Interview data were transcribed and data analysed using a thematic analysis. Results The majority of participants described an increase in knowledge around diabetes self-management and an increased sense of personal responsibility. Participants also de- scribed changes in self-management activities and reflected on the challenges in instigating and maintaining change to improve diabetes management. Conclusion The complexities of implementing change in daily life to improve glycaemic control indicate the need for ongoing support post intervention, which may increase and maintain the effectiveness of the intervention.

personal values and professional values

personal values and professional values

2 pages Review the values of the profession and think about what personal values are a good fit and what personal values might be in conflict with professional values. This portion of the paper should address that part of social work practice that you believe to be the most difficult for you to perform. A central part of the paper should be a candid, open examination of how your own perceptions, attitudes, values, experiences, emotions, and stereotypes may influence your ability to perform a particular aspect of social work practice. Refer to the Code of Ethics and list at least two codes that are involved in your plan. After thoroughly defining and describing the practice aspect you selected, examine the roots of your perceived difficulty both by reviewing your own involvement and by reviewing the salient professional literature on the subject.

Review the values of the profession and think about what personal values are a good fit and what personal values might be in conflict with professional values. The final sec on should be a thoughtful description of the personal plan you have devised to address this perceived deficit in your professional repertoire (while in the SW program). Among examples discussed in class are topics such as: Clients who evoke images from one’s past (transference); parents, adolescence, siblings, peers, childhood etc. Special populations: handicapped, gay/lesbian/transgendered, aged, mandated, women, children, ethnic minorities, elderly, etc. Difficult populations: ex-offenders, abusers, neglectful or abusive parents, child molesters, active substance abusers, etc. Others you may desire to select (Please discuss these with me prior to doing this assignment). Resistance to engagement: open/subtle hostility from clients Cultural variance of clients and workers: race, status, political, sexual expression differences etc. Note: Write in the first person and it may be helpful to include a personal dimension of how this problem/ situation may have somehow touched your life. Please keep healthy professional boundaries and monitor your own well-being carefully. The usually accepted standards of written academic work should apply to this paper including structure, grammar, format, organization, clarity, and originality. The paper should be 2 pages in length and use APA guidelines for formatting.

Supply and demand analysis

  • Supply and demand analysis paper

Instruction

Supply and demand analysis is more difficult than we often imagine, but there is a step-by-step process to follow. 1. Identify the industry or market being analyzed. For example, if we were interested in the airline industry, we might be analyzing the commercial aircraft manufacturing industry for which Airbus and Boeing are the major suppliers or the domestic airline industry where US airlines are the suppliers. 2. Identify the suppliers, usually firms, and the demanders. The demanders could be consumers or other firms. 3. Identify the factors (shifters) that will shift the supply or demand curves. Arnold explains the factors that shift the demand curve and those that shift the supply curve. There is little overlap. If you are like the average student, everything in your instinct will cause you to avoid this step relying instead on your intuition. Intuition is great but often will serve you poorly in economic analysis. And yes, you will need to refer to the textbook. If you overlook this step, it is likely that your analysis will be faulty. 4. Having identified the factor(s) that shift the demand and supply curves, you will know which curve shifts and in which direction. Insert the shifted curves into your supply and demand diagram. As a simplifying assumption, supply and demand analysis always begins with the market in equilibrium. Nothing changes and you cannot make any predictions about the change in price or quantity until a curve shifts. 5. Once the shifted curve(s) are inserted in the diagram, there will be a new equilibrium. Now compare the price and quantity at the initial and new equilibrium. These changes are your theoretical predictions. If you are analyzing past changes in the market, there is usually data available on price and quantity. Check to see if these data support your predictions. Supply and demand analysis does work and is useful in business in the real world. If your predictions are not supported by data, it is likely that there is a theoretical error in your analysis. For example, if the price of oil increases, the supply curve for airlines will shift left. At the new equilibrium, the price will rise and quantity (the number of flights) will fall. If the price data show falling prices, there’s something wrong. Follow these steps in the M2 assignment. Armed with the knowledge you are gaining from this module week’s summit session, it’s now time for us to apply what we are learning! For this activity, complete four of the five scenario-based problems. Prepare a document to explain your answers and graph your solutions. Make sure to use references in APA format to support your positions. Joshua’s income increases but so have his federal income taxes; therefore, please illustrate by constructing a supply and demand graph, the direction in which the curves will shift and state the new equilibrium price and quantity; for example, state whether price and quantity increased, decreased, or are indeterminate. Please explain your rationale based on the determinants of demand and supply. Apply your analysis to goods that Joshua currently purchases. Winston is disappointed in the new SUV he recently purchased. He was excited about the new technology incorporated in his SUV but it did not live up to his expectations. Assume that his assessment is shared by automotive reporters and widely published; therefore, please illustrate by constructing a supply and demand graph, the direction in which the curves will shift and state the new equilibrium price and quantity; for example, state whether price and quantity increased, decreased, or are indeterminate. Please explain your rationale based on the determinants of demand and supply. Analyze the market for this SUV. Kim is in the market for a new automobile and, since she was just promoted at work, her tastes in higher-end automobiles has increased, but, to her surprise, a new federal law also decreased her income taxes, which make a new automobile more attractive; therefore, please illustrate by constructing a supply and demand graph, the direction in which the curves will shift and state the new equilibrium price and quantity; for example, state whether price and quantity increased, decreased, or are indeterminate. Please explain your rationale based on the determinants of demand and supply. Analyze the market for higher-end cars. U.S. agricultural farmers are excited since the government announced an increase in subsidies even though the substitutes for agricultural goods that are imported have increased in demand; therefore, please illustrate by constructing a supply and demand graph, the direction in which the curves will shift and state the new equilibrium price and quantity; for example, state whether price and quantity increased, decreased, or are indeterminate. Please explain your rationale based on the determinants of demand and supply. Analyze the market for domestic agricultural products. Due to advanced technology, substitute goods for higher education have seen an increase in demand. Please illustrate this circumstance by constructing a supply and demand graph, showing the direction in which the curves will shift, and state the new equilibrium price and quantity; for example, state whether price and quantity increased, decreased, or are indeterminate. Please explain your rationale based on the determinants of demand and supply. Analyze the market for traditional higher education such as that provided by ERAU. Your paper will automatically be evaluated through Turnitin when you submit your assignment in this activity. Turnitin is a service that checks your work for improper citation or potential plagiarism by comparing it against a database of web pages, student papers, and articles from academic books and publications. Business Administration Organizational Leadership

Business Administration Organizational Leadership – Assignment #3 –

Instruction
Feedback Feedback – giving and receiving – is a critical skill for any leader. You must be able to give feedback to others and you must seek out feedback about yourself and your performance in order to grow and remain effective. Assignment #3 has 3 parts. Part 1: Read these two articles http://www.cambridge.org/elt/blog/2014/03/five-reasons-feedback-may-important-skill/ http://www.eyesonsales.com/content/article/the_importance_benefits_and_fundamentals_of_providing_feedback_in_sales/ The second article is a bit specific to sales but I like that they provide some concrete examples that I think will be useful to you. Part 2: Seek out and/or provide some feedback (positive or constructive; your choice) in your life and tell me what you experienced. Perhaps it is just asking your boss how he or she thinks you are doing and asking if there is anything you can be doing better. Maybe it is asking this same question to your spouse or child. It could be telling someone in your life that they are doing a great job and being specific about why. Your choice, just tell me know it goes and what you learned. Part 3: Provide some feedback for me about this course. What do you like most about this course so far? What do you like least? What can we/I do to make the rest of the term valuable for you?

Information Sharing

The Internet is an invaluable resource for community safety. Because it provides public access to information on justice-related issues within communities and throughout the United States. Many law enforcement practitioners have embraced the Internet and made information widely available. Allowing access to considerable justice-related data for their jurisdictions.

Currently, there are many websites available to the law enforcement community that provide data. And information of interest to criminal justice practitioners. Many in the law enforcement community, however, may not be aware of the availability of these resources. Further, to search through the vast amount of data available. Law enforcement practitioners have to spend considerable time accessing and conducting searches on individual sites. Access to all of the databases through a single access point would greatly benefit the law enforcement community. And allow for the most efficient search functionality and data retrieval.

The creation of a law enforcement information sharing portal to provide a single access point. Would benefit the entire criminal justice community by allowing for more efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings. The ability of law enforcement to query multiple resources with a common term from a unified interface will deliver a more comprehensive view regarding the search criteria.

 Criminal Justice Program Proposal

The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) is an example of the success that a single access point for searching multiple resources can provide. Prior to the NSOPW, many states had their own sex offender registry systems. However, to conduct a comprehensive search of registered sex offenders, it was necessary to conduct searches on the individual websites of the respective states and territories.

In 2005, when NSOPW was launched, the public had real-time access to information on sex offender registries throughout the United States and select territories. NSOPW provides an efficient and effective resource to identify registered sex offenders nationwide through a single search from any computer with Internet access. The NSOPW has proven to be an extremely successful and well-used resource since its launch. The success of the NSOPW demonstrates the value of providing a single access point for searching databases to law enforcement practitioners and the public alike.

The Internet has revolutionized the accessibility of information, and in a relatively short amount of time, it has evolved exponentially. Advances in technology, which make vital information available via the Internet. Have provided the law enforcement community with a cost-effective tool. Using available technology to integrate existing resources will provide law enforcement professionals with expanded access to information that will aid in current investigations and could help prevent future criminal activity.
