Cellular Respiration Glucose Molecules & Living Cells Discussion
I don’t understand this Biology question and need help to study.
respond to the following in at least 100 words, include references
Cellular respiration is the process when chemical energy from foods is rendered into energy form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This process is affected by the nutrients we eat so when you diet you change the nutrients which will have an effect on cellular respiration. The nutrients or types of food that go through the process of cellular respiration are fats, carbohydrates (glucose), proteins, and other acids. Cellular respiration is needed to get energy. Cellular respiration has three processes: glycolysis, Kreb’s cycle, and the electron transport chain. Without cellular respiration all living organism would seize to exist. We use ATP without even thinking about. A muscle twitch in your eyelid is being done by ATP. We could not breathe with ATP.
Now that the introduction is complete let’s discuss the article that found for this. I decided that I wanted to discuss how the Ketogenic (Keto) Diet impacts the ATP. With the Keto diets we are changing types of food that we ingest which changes the amount of ATP we get. As mentioned above fats and proteins are some of the main sources of where ATP comes from. Keto encourages eating fats and proteins but not carbohydrates. Carbohydrates turn into sugar by product when process by our bodies. With Keto our body is not get its ATP (energy) for cellular respiration from sugar but instead it is force to find its energy from fats and proteins. While that diet sounds great it still has downfall to it. The key here is that we need to eat a balance diet to get the right amount nutrients.
