Marketer Y has an objective, a strategy, the proper execution for the strategy, and the audience.

Though I do think “Marketer Y’s” efforts apply to this approach in its simplest form, I don’t think the process entirely pertains. For instance, this planning process is generally used for long-range planning (Berkowitz, 2010). Marketer Y’s process is short and simple—however, the steps are there on a smaller scale. Moreover, the second step (strategy formulation) is typically very “difficult and time-consuming” (Berkowitz, 2010). Again, Marketer Y’s efforts are simple; they require routine visits and consistency.

Based on the textbook reading, Marketer Y’s efforts may prove unsuccessful. The entire plan and implementation were done correctly. But if the doctors this individual is visiting do not supply the referrals, then the physical therapy practice will not gain from this process. Marketer Y’s efforts include gifts, but since the staff does not accept these gifts, I would assume the staff will also be reluctant in their referrals to the other clinic.

I find that most students have issues with the first table on the Foodborne case study. The basic formula is Formula: Number of females/Total number in that age group…52 (total number of females in age group 6-10)/94 (total number for female and male in age group 6-10 combined) x 100 = 55.32% Male age group 6-10= (42/94) x 100 = 44.68%

There will be a lot of AR calculations in the next case study. Remember the formula is: ill/ill+well (total attended) x 100. Also round your answers to the nearest hundredth to receive full credit. Example:

5/62= 0.08064516 x 100= 8.06451613 then round to the nearest hundredth which would make the answer 8.06.

Also, make sure to provide an answer when you see the words ‘Interpret your findings‘. This would include a statement of the magnitude of the effect based on the rate ratio (or relative risk [RR]). There is a handout in the Chapter 7 folder on the use of RR in a foodborne (E. coli) outbreak. Review that before working on this case study.

You will calculate RRs for place and then food items. So, if one of the foods had an RR of 3.92, your interpretation of the RR would be that “those who ate that food were nearly 4 times more likely to have gastroenteritis”. If any of the RRs are well below 1.0, that would mean the food was protective of gastroenteritis ~ meaning those who ate that item were less likely to be ill. For example, if an RR for a food was 0.32, you could state that “those who ate that food were 68% less likely to have gastroenteritis”. You find the % by subtracting the lower RR from 1.0.

Lastly, for this case study and all other assignments that have numerical answers, round your answer to the hundredths. This applies to the Attack Rates and the RRs in the case study. If the calculation gives you 2.679, put down 2.68 instead of 2.7 or 3.0.

An organization’s health care finance needs to be intact for an organization to survive and grow. Another key component in the health care organization is the Affordable Care Act signed into law in 2010 under the Obama presidency. It impacted consumer well‐being and the role health and financial literacy play in achieving well‐being (Fitzgerald et al., 2017). Individuals could receive medical attention at a lower cost, increased reimbursement for rural health care providers to encourage these professionals to stay in rural communities. In return, providers were being paid for their services. As you can see, finances have become more important for a business to stay afloat.

  • Respond to regulations – healthcare organizations are highly regulated and must comply with endless Federal, state, and local government laws and regulations or incur fines or lose the ability to do business

the COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of healthcare finance has been in the spotlight in the past year. To protect both staff and the public from possible exposure, healthcare providers cancelled non-emergency and non-essential medical, surgical and dental procedures. Individual patients avoided routine visits to their primary care or specialty providers, and even trips to the emergency room out of fear of being exposed. This decrease in revenue coupled with the increase costs of caring for an overwhelming number of critically ill patients, increase need for PPE, and staffing shortages (registry/travel nurses from staffing agencies have much higher salary) has put healthcare organizations under unparalleled financial pressure (American Hospital Association, 2020). Hospitals in rural areas have been hit especially hard.

Because the healthcare industry provides such varied and essential services (direct care, research, etc.), its ability to grow and thrive (in a patient-centered approach) is important to every community. Keen and well-balanced financial management is an important element in that process.

The nursing profession is both practice-based, referring to the evidence-based practice that we’ve been discussing the last couple weeks and theory based (Younas and Quennell, 2019).

The theory part of nursing focuses on the nurses values and beliefs about the human body and health . According to this theory, it focuses on seeking which approaches to patient care would be best for that individual patient.

Essentially it is gathering information from definitions and concepts and making assumptions using both the deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning methods (Nursing Theories, 2020).

Younas and Quennell say that nursing theories are just as mportant as using evidence-based practice (2019). Using theory, evidence-based practice, and research all together can contribute to high knowledge development (Younas and Quennell, 2019).

Nursing Theories says that the conceptual model theory is a more abstract way about looking at certain situations; it is a reference used to guide general nursing practice that consists of the patient, the environment, the nurse, and the health of the patient (2020).

Johnson’s Theory 1968

Johnson’s Theory 1968 is a theory that focuses on a patient’s ability to adapt to their new-found-out illness. It looks at different stressors that may or may not cause the patient to not be able to adapt. The goal of this theory is to help maintain and control our patient’s stress level. So they can more easily cope with and recover from their illness (Nursing Theories, 2020).

An example of Johnson’s Theory- say a person just found out they had cancer (of any sort). Finding this out would be incredibly stressful in many ways.like depending on the type of cancer, how long that person has, how old they are, etc. Say this person found out they have Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and they are 50 years old. This would be devastating news for anyone. Using Johnson’s Theory, we can help provide our patient with resources they need in order to decrease their stress level and be able to cope with this new-found news. We can assist them with an advanced directive, a living will, get them into a support group, get their affairs in line for when they pass, have them meet with the chaplain, etc.
